Qantas Appoints Grant Lilly To Develop NZ Expansion Opportunities

Qantas Chief Executive Officer Geoff Dixon today announced the appointment of Grant Lilly to further develop opportunities for Qantas in New Zealand.

"Grant has extensive experience in the international and domestic New Zealand aviation and tourism industries and is extraordinarily well qualified for this role."

Mr Dixon said Mr Lilly would work alongside Peter Collins, Qantas Regional General Manager New Zealand and Pacific Islands.

Qantas currently operates about 180 flights each week between Australia and New Zealand. Domestically, Qantas operates 10 return Auckland-Wellington and 8 return Auckland-Christchurch flights daily and has a codeshare agreement with Origin Pacific.

Mr Lilly has worked as a commercial strategy executive since he joined Qantas five months ago.

He was General Manager of Air New Zealand's International Airline before leaving the airline last year.

Previously, he ran Air New Zealand's Domestic Airline Group and spent six years in Singapore as Air New Zealand's Regional General Manager Asia and Japan.

Mr Lilly has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Auckland.
