QantasLink to assist Alliance Airlines customers

Brisbane, 28 February 2003

QantasLink will carry Alliance Airlines customers after the airline discontinues services between Brisbane and Rockhampton and Brisbane and Gladstone from 6 March.

QantasLink General Manager Sunstate Airlines Elsa D'Alessio said the airline would accept Alliance Airlines tickets until 21 March for customers travelling between the three Queensland cities.

"Customers who are holding Alliance Airlines bookings that have been ticketed on or before Thursday 27 February should return to the point of sale for rebooking on QantasLink services, subject to availability."

Ms D'Alessio said QantasLink offered a range of fares from fully flexible Economy Class, through to heavily discounted seats on selected flights.

"QantasLink has no plans to increase fares as a result of Alliance Airlines withdrawing from these routes.

"We will continue to monitor these services and will add capacity should there be sufficient demand," Ms D'Alessio added.

QantasLink operates 49 services each week between Brisbane and Rockhampton, and 76 services between Brisbane and Gladstone.
