A new team of wine experts and mixologists, The Qantas Rockpool Sommeliers, features 16 highly experienced sommeliers and mixologists. The sommeliers blind taste, review and select from 1,200 Australian wines and Champagnes over four days each year to make recommendations across all cabins. Settle back with a pre-take off drink
Shortly after take-off passengers will be served a welcome drink from Bickford's signature range, featuring flavours exclusive to Qantas such as Lemon & Elderflower, and Pink Grapefruit.
Indulge in a new inflight meal experience
We have worked closely with Australia's leading producers and suppliers to deliver what we believe to be the best inflight economy dining experience offered by any international carrier. Enjoy larger meals and more choice (up to four meal options) including a healthy option, comfort food and a meal inspired by the route itself.
Treat yourself to between meal snacks
Our cabin crew also hand out additional treats throughout the flight including items such as Maltesers, Weis ice cream bars and fresh fruit.
Both the A380 and refurbished 747s offer complimentary snack bars in Economy full of a range of delicious complimentary snacks from sodas/soft drinks to cookies and fresh fruit plus maybe some Aussie favourites such as Tim Tams.
Plus the comforts of home
We know that comfort food is great too, so we offer seasonal specialities across our different routes to offer you a taste of home. For example, on flights from Asia to Australia we offer regional dishes which may include Kadahi vegetable curry with caramelised onion and coriander rice or Dhal fry with jalfrezi vegetable and naan bread. Or on flights from the US to Australia dishes such as smoky barbeque beef, or snacks including pulled beef sliders or hot dogs.
Pair the perfect wine to match your meal
As Qantas continues its investment in training, Rockpool Sommeliers will also be part of the Qantas Advanced Sommelier in the Sky training program for cabin crew. More than 150 cabin crew are currently trained as onboard sommeliers with over 2,000 Qantas Cabin Crew having completed an introductory, intermediate or advanced level of wine training.
