Dubai Connect - terms and conditions
These terms and conditions govern 'Dubai Connect' bookings when made through Qantas or a travel agent. Correct as at 15 May 2019, and are subject to change without notice.
It's the responsibility of Eligible Passengers to ensure that all information provided to Qantas is true and correct. Where required, information will be passed onto third parties to book a third party service. This will be done in accordance with the Qantas Privacy Statement.
Dubai Connect is a complimentary service which offers accommodation, meals, ground transportation and visa costs to Eligible Passengers travelling on an Eligible Booking with an extended connection time in Dubai.
(a) Dubai Connect is available for Eligible Passengers who have made an Eligible Booking which complies with the Connection Requirements, through Qantas or their travel agent.
(b) Eligible Passengers are passengers who have been offered by Qantas to use Dubai Connect, either through the "Dubai Connect" icon in Manage Your Booking or in another manner, as determined by Qantas.
(c) An Eligible Booking is a single confirmed and ticketed booking (i.e. one booking/ PNR) on an Emirates operated and marketed service (on a flight number starting with QF or EK) through Dubai, validated to a Qantas (081) or Emirates (176) ticket.
(i) Bookings made in booking classes N, O, Q and X are not Eligible Bookings.
(ii) Bookings made on codeshare flights (with the exception of QF8000 and EK5000) are not Eligible Bookings.
(iii) Group Bookings may be Eligible Bookings. Please check with your Qantas Groups representative at the time of booking whether your Group Booking qualifies. Group Bookings do not automatically qualify for Dubai Connect.
(d) The following Connection Requirements apply:
(i) First and Business passengers: the best available connection time, meaning the connection with the shortest transit time between the inbound and outbound flight, must be more than six hours and less than 24 hours from scheduled arrival in Dubai.
(ii) Economy passengers: the best available connection time, meaning the connection with the shortest transit time between the inbound and outbound flight, must be more than eight hours and less than 24 hours from scheduled arrival in Dubai.
2. Making a Dubai Connect booking
(a) All Dubai Connect bookings must be made at least 24 hours prior to departure of the flight to Dubai and must be on a confirmed ticket. All bookings must be made via "Manage your Booking" on qantas.com, through your travel agent or in another manner, as determined by Qantas.
3. How it works
(a) Generally, a Dubai Connect Voucher will be issued on the day of the scheduled departure of the flight to Dubai.
(b) The Dubai Connect Voucher can be redeemed for accommodation, transfers, and meals, as specified on the Voucher.
(c) When requested, the Dubai Connect Voucher must be shown to Immigration Staff at the airport, at the hotel and when using transfers.
(a) Baggage of Eligible Passengers will be automatically checked through to the final destination and will not be accessible in Dubai unless the Eligible Passenger requests otherwise when checking in for their flight to Dubai. If Eligible Passengers choose to access their baggage during their stay in Dubai, they must collect their baggage on arrival in Dubai, and re-check in baggage when checking in for their flight departing Dubai in accordance with the standard check-in time requirements.
(b) One night of accommodation will be provided at the Copthorne Hotel Dubai, Le Meridien Airport Hotel Dubai, the Arabian Park Hotel Dubai or another hotel at the discretion of Qantas. The number of rooms provided will depend on the number of Eligible Passengers in the Eligible Booking.
(c) Accommodation is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. The hotel, room type, number of rooms and any inclusions specified on the Voucher can be varied by Qantas without notice and Qantas is under no obligation to provide the same.
(d) At least one passenger per room must be 18 years of age or older. Up to two children are able to travel with each adult per room.
(e) A credit card may be required to be provided on check-in at the hotel.
Qantas is not responsible for any additional charges that may apply during the stay (i.e. mini bar, spa, restaurant charges other than those listed on vouchers).
5. Immigration and entry requirements
(a) Subject to clause 5(b), as part of Dubai Connect the application of Eligible Passengers for a complimentary visa for stays up to and including 24 hours will be sponsored.
(b) All Eligible Passengers must have the appropriate valid travel documents to enable visas to be obtained and must be successful in obtaining entry into the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the responsibility of Eligible Passengers to make all necessary arrangements for their travel and to ensure that they comply with all laws, regulations and other requirements, including but not limited to any nationality and passport validity requirements as determined by the UAE. 6. Other conditions
(a) Any services provided as part of Dubai Connect, whether specified/included on the Voucher or not, are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Qantas retains the right to vary or cancel any Dubai Connect bookings without notice. Qantas reserves the right to modify or cancel Dubai Connect at any time without notice.
(b) Qantas has the right to refuse Dubai Connect in, but not limited to, the following situations:
(i) If an Eligible Passenger has used threatening, insulting or abusive language;
(ii) If an Eligible Passenger breaks government laws or polices, including but not limited to airport policies and regulations;
(iii) If Eligible Passengers are incapacitated by drugs or alcohol at time of redeeming Dubai Connect
(c) It is strongly advised that Eligible Passengers take out suitable travel insurance at the time of making their booking.
(d) By booking Dubai Connect Eligible Passengers acknowledge that Qantas facilitates the booking of the services offered through Dubai Connect only and that these services are provided by third party suppliers, and not by Qantas. Qantas is not responsible for the acts or omissions of such suppliers, or for any deficiency in the facilities and services offered. In particular, Qantas has no liability for loss, personal injury, or death incurred during the use of such facilities and services unless:
a. such loss, personal injury or death is / are caused solely by Qantas' negligence; or
b. such liability cannot be excluded under law (in which case it is limited to the maximum extent permitted under the law).
(e) The use of all services provided through third parties is subject to Terms and Conditions of these services, as determined by the providers.
(f) In addition to these Terms and Conditions, other Terms and Conditions including but not limited to the Qantas conditions of carriage also apply.
