Palma Mallorca is one of Spain top destinations to visit with clean beaches, sunny weather, stunning resorts and excellent seafood. Mega yachts, sailboats and fishing boats float along the blue waters around the island and there is culture to experience too. Be sure to visit the famous La Sue Cathedral, wander the maze of streets in old city with charming courtyards, boutiques and chic bars. There is wonderful food to try, from seafood at the resorts and regional dishes served in restaurants throughout the island. It's a picturesque island to visit and should not be missed.

When to visit

Mallorca enjoys a temperate, Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Summer is the busiest time of the year to visit with temperatures in July and August reaching around 40°C. It’s the perfect time to swim in the sea, stroll along the marina and visit Platja de Palma beach. Spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) are also lovely times to visit with fewer crowds and comfortable temperatures around 25 °C.

When your flight arrives in Palma, Mallorca you’ll be welcomed by the staff the airport to get your visit off to the right start. 

Getting into Palma, Mallorca from the Airport  

Getting into Palma de Mallorca is easy, with a range of transport options available. Take a bus, taxi, hotel shuttle, private transfer or car rental. From the airport, taking the bus is an affordable way to get to the main tourist points of the city as well as stops along the seafront promenade. Once you collect your bags, follow the signs to the bus pick up area, where you can queue to board your chosen route. Taxi is a convenient option, with the taxi rank providing services to Palma, Magaluf and other destinations around the island. From the airport to the city centre of Palma, it takes around 15 minutes. It’s possible to organise a private transfer or check with your hotel to organise a shuttle. If you wish to rent a car, car rental companies are available at the airport and you can choose one that suits your needs to explore the island. 

Getting around Palma, Mallorca

There are plenty of transport options available in Palma, Mallorca and some of the best ways to see the island is by taxi, car rental, bicycle, scooter, bus or private transfer. Taxis are safe, easy to find and a popular way to get around Palma. Car rental is a common way to get around the island and you can rent a car from the airport or from the resorts. Buses are easy, cheap and efficient and serve most towns and villages. Palma’s main bus stop is located next to the train station in Plaza Espana. Trains are fast and efficient and run between Plama and Inca and surrounding towns. Bicycles are a fun way to get around or you can rent a scooter. Sightseeing cruises from the major resorts are a good way to see more of the island.
