When to visit

Murcia in southern Spain has very hot summers and mild winters. The best times to visit are in spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) with warm sunny days. Temperatures average around 20°C to 25°C. Summers are particularly hot, with temperatures in August averaging around 34°C.

The airport is close to the motorway and in easy reach of Cartegena, Murcia, Torrevieja and La Manga, so hiring a car is a good option. Taxi is a convenient way to travel directly to Murcia city. There are also a number of bus options if you wish to take public transport. 

Getting around Murcia

Murcia, located on the Segura River in south-eastern Spain is a small city that makes walking and cycling popular ways to get around the city centre. The town has a fleet of buses to help you move around the city and the surrounding areas. Murcia has a tram that can take you where you need to go, or you may wish to hire a bike to discover the city with many cycling lanes. Taxis are a convenient option, which can be hailed on the street or from a taxi rank, or you may like to hire a car.
