When to visit

The best time to visit London is March through May when the temperatures are mild and the city's parks are green and blooming. In the spring, you’ll enjoy longer daylight hours and mild weather, with temperatures averaging 11° to 15°C. Summer is a great time to visit to make the most of beer gardens, music festivals, outdoor cinemas and many great outdoor activities worth experiencing. Temperatures average 18°C and can go above 30°C. Autumn (September to November) is a lovely time of year to visit London, as the weather is mild, 11° to 15°C. London is cold in winter, average temperatures of between 2 and 6°C, and perfect to enjoy the Christmas lights and decorations.

Located in the west of the city, in the London borough of Hillingdon, Heathrow hosts two runways and four operational terminal buildings. Heathrow airport is located (23 km) west of Central London.

Getting into London from London Heathrow Airport

Getting into Central London from London Heathrow Airport is easy, with many transport options available. The Heathrow Express train service is the fastest way to transfer from Heathrow Airport and London Paddington. Book the Heathrow express train tickets online and save money. Trains operate every 15 minutes and takes 15 minutes to get to the city. Drive to Central London with all the world’s most popular car hire companies at arrivals. You may wish to reserve a chauffeur to enjoy door-to-door comfort of travelling in style. Enjoy a relaxing ride in a London black cab or book a minicab from Heathrow. Catch a coach from Heathrow with National Express that operate from terminals 2, 3 and 5. Uber and ride share services are also available.

Getting around London

Getting around London is easy, with multiple modes of transport options to suit your needs. Using an Oyster travel smartcard is the easiest way to travel around the city’s public transport network. You can use it to travel on the tube, buses, DLR, river bus service, London Overground and most national rail services in London. Travelling by river is a great way to get around London on the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers and River Thames boat service. You'll beat the traffic and enjoy fantastic views of London along the way. Walking is a free and environmentally friendly way to get around London. From iconic London black cabs to local minicabs, it’s easy to travel around London by taxi. You can hire a bike from London’s public bicycle hire scheme or jump in an Uber to get around town.
