Tucked away on the southeast corner of Spain’s Mediterranean coast, Almeria is one of Andalusia’s hidden gems. It's famous throughout Spain for is gorgeous beaches, most of which are completely unspoilt. The most spectacular stretches of sand are to be found in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Be sure to visit the stunning Moorish fort, the beautiful cathedral and enjoy the delicious tapas bars, plenty of restaurants and stroll along the port.
Almeria is located on the south-east coast of Spain means that you can expect constant warmth and bright sunshine all year-round in Costa Almeria. Temperatures hit 31°C in the summer with August being the hottest month of the year. If you love the heat and sunshine, June to August is the best time to go. The sea has also warmed up and rarely drops below 24°C. The best time to visit Almeria for lower temperatures is after the summer. October is still warm at around 24°C and less humidity.

Getting from Almeria Airport to Almeria is easy with various transport options available. By bus, the city bus line 30 operates to the main train and bus station in town and the journey time takes around 35 minutes. If you have a lot of luggage, taxis are a good option and located in the arrivals area. If your hotel is not in walking distance from the bus station, a good option is to organise a door to door transfer. If you wish to explore more of the area, renting a car is a good option with rental car companies available at the airport.
There are plenty of transport options available in Almeria and some of the best ways to see the sights is taxi, bus, train, car, ferry or walking. The bus station is located within the same building as the train station, with buses available to take you around the city. Taxis are a convenient way to get you where you want to go and its best to download the TaxiClick app to request one. The port of Almeria has many boats and you can take a ferry to Melilla, Algeria or Morocco. It’s possible to rent a car, walk around the city or you may wish to join a tour.
