Visiting from Singapore to Palermo

Palermo travel information

Palermo is a city in southern Italy and the capital of Sicily, known for its architecture, culture, Italian cuisine and history. The port town has stunning Botanical Gardens to stroll, popular golden sand beaches of Modello Lido and bustling street markets to explore. You'll find purple artichokes, piles of blood-red oranges, the odd giant octopus and painted Sicilian ceramics. Wander the crumbling staircases, leading to gilded ballrooms, Italy’s biggest Opera House Cappella Palatina, discover the crooked side streets dotted with youthful artisan studios. Enjoy Arab influenced dishes, lemon granita, spicy fish and famous calzonie. You'll fall unexpectedly in love with Palermo.

When to visit

Best time to visit  Palermo

The best time to visit Palermo would be late spring (May to June) and early autumn (October to September) due to the favourable temperature in those months, and fewer crowds than July and August. In spring, temperatures range from 16°C in the night to 26°C during the day, making it a great to visit the city. July, Palermo becomes warmer making it a good time to go swimming and the beach resorts get busy. The Scirocco winds do bring winds and some rainfall. Temperatures average 30°C in summer. Autumn, is when the vineyards begin to harvest and the best time to go wine tasting. September sees reduced temperatures that range from 27°C in the day to 12°C in the night.
