Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast

This paradise region is called the Sunshine Coast for good reason. With sunny days and spectacular beaches, this is the ultimate holiday destination for outdoor adventure and coastal relaxation.

Stretching along the Coral Sea about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast extends all the way to Rainbow Beach - named for its distinctive multi-coloured sand dunes.

There are four sub-regions within the Sunshine Coast, each with its own unique flavour and range of exciting things to see and do. Book your trip and look forward to beaches, surfing, eco-parks and nature reserves.

Flights to the Sunshine Coast

Don't miss

There’s so much to do on the Sunshine Coast. Here are some of our tips.

  • See Rainbow Beach or feel the sand between your toes on one of the many pristine beaches along the coastline.
  • Rejuvenate in the cool, lush hinterland villages of Montville, Maleny and around the Glass House Mountains - with quirky markets, local shops and fabulous, sprawling views across the ocean.
  • Join a kayaking tour and explore the magical Noosa Everglades.
  • Check out a boutique winery or indulge in gourmet award-winning restaurants.
  • Shop 'till you drop in the famous Hastings Street, right in the heart of Noosa. You’ll also find some great hidden treasures in the many local markets in the Sunshine Coast. It won’t take long to see why this region is considered one of the top 'market destinations' in the country.

Where to go

With sunshine, natural beauty and delicious food, the only thing more refreshing than the water is the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

Sand between your toes

There are dozens of gorgeous beaches to recharge your batteries within the Sunshine Coast.

Whether your style is making sandcastles with the kids, seeking out your own secluded patch of sunshine, or surfing some great breaks - the Sunshine Coast has it all.

If you’re looking for a bit of eye-popping action, keep your eyes peeled during July to November when the humpback whales make their annual seasonal migration. There’s a number of terrific vantage points to view these magnificent creatures on their swim along the coast - or join an unforgettable whale swim tour!

The perfect place to relax

The Sunshine Coast is the ideal place to relax, refresh and revitalise.

Centre yourself and practice mindfulness - whether at a beach or riverside yoga classes, one of the many day spas or a meditation retreat.

Go mountain biking through the spectacular scenery of the hinterland, or catch the salty ocean breeze on the bike paths on the beachfront.

Take a stroll along one of the oceanside boardwalks, or a winding hike through the hinterland forests and breathe in the calm air.
