Eligibility and requirements when coming to Australia.

Travel from China, including Hong Kong SAR
- From 5 January 2023, all travellers aged 12 and above departing from China, including Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, are required to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result, taken within 48 hours of departure. Exemptions apply for transiting passengers and for medical reasons.
- Your COVID-19 test must be either:
- A negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) or other Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) test taken within a 48-hour period prior to the day of your scheduled departure, or
- A negative Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken by or under the supervision of an authorised person within a 48-hour period prior to the day of your scheduled departure.

- If you're travelling on a Qantas operated flight, and you've previously had a COVID-19 infection, you may be able to apply for medical clearance based on a past positive infection, provided you're no longer infectious and don’t have any symptoms. - Your COVID-19 test must be either:

- If your itinerary includes travel with another airline, or Qantas codeshare flights which are operated by another airline on their aircraft, you'll need to contact them directly to understand and meet their requirements.
- Some countries have restrictions around transiting. If you're transiting via another country or onto another international flight, ensure you check the requirements of your transiting and destination country to ensure their government allows you to transit.
Travel from all other countries

Ensure you check the latest public health advice for the states or territories you're travelling to, and adhere to any local health restrictions and social measures in place.
This may include testing and isolation requirements, wearing masks in certain settings such as public transport, or showing proof of vaccination in high-risk locations.
