Best time to visit Brisbane

Getting into Brisbane

To reach Brisbane’s city centre on a budget, take the Airtrain, which offers fast and affordable access to the CBD in as little as 20 minutes. For a more direct route to the city, look for the taxis, rideshare services and shuttles that can be accessed outside the terminal building. You can also pre-book to hire a car. 

Getting around Brisbane

After you’ve made your way into the heart of Brisbane, getting around is easy. The city’s public transport system is both convenient and affordable, with trains, buses and ferries all accessible with a reloadable go card. Alternatively, if you’re planning to visit Brisbane's nearby attractions during your holiday, car hires can be booked in advance or organised on arrival. Walking and cycling are also a great way to get around on more than 1,100km of dedicated pathways.

Hawke's Bay travel information

There are two words that best describe Hawke's Bay and they are Wine Country - but there is much more than wine to this sunny region. Best time to visit Hawke's Bay

The best time to visit Hawkes Bay is in summer to make the most of the outdoor cycle trails, Te Mata Peak, rugged coastline and daylight savings. January and February are the warmest months with around 83 day of sunshine, temperature ranges between 20 - 25˚C. As the city is on the North Island, winter temperatures drop with some frost overnight. It makes a good time to visit the vineyards around Napier.

Hawke's Bay Airport (NPE).Opens external site in a new window Commonly referred to as Napier Airport, is Hawke's Bay's main commercial airport, serving domestic flights to the main centres of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as well as smaller centres such as Gisborne, Wairoa and Blenheim.

With a range of convenient parking and transport options, getting to the city is easy. Rental car counters are located just near the main entrance with all the main providers.  Taxi and shuttle bus services are available to Napier and beyond. It takes approximately 10 minutes to get to Napier.

Getting around Hawke's Bay

With a range of things to do from stunning vineyards and Art Deco buildings, choosing how you travel around Hawkes Bay is simple, with many transport options available. A wide range of year-round guides tours and shuttle services are available throughout the Napier region. There are spectacular walking tracks and it’s popular to hire a bike to cycle between the vineayards. Car hire and taxis are a convenient way to get you to where you want to go.
