John F. Kennedy International AirportOpens external site in a new window , also known as just JFK, is the main airport serving New York City.  It's located 25 km (16 miles) from the city centre.

Flights

Qantas flights arrive and depart from Terminal 8.

If you're arriving in New York on QF11, you'll already have cleared immigration and customs formalities at Los Angeles International Airport on arrival in the United States. There are no further formalities to be completed on arrival in New York.

If you're departing New York on QF12, and your final destination is outside of the US, your immigration card will be collected at check-in, or, at the departure gate if you're transferring to QF12 from another flight.

  • Qantas codeshare flights operated by American Airlines arrive and depart from Terminal 8.

Partner airlines

  • Alaska Airlines operate from Terminal 7.
  • WestJet operate from Terminal 4.

  • British Airways and Iberia operate from Terminal 7.
  • Cathay Pacific, Finnair, LATAM and Royal Jordanian operate from Terminal 8.

Ticketing facilities are available at the Qantas counter in Terminal 8. Open from 2pm to 5.10pm.

Check-in

Check-in is located on the upper level and is open from 2pm to 5.10pm.

Online Check-in is available for Qantas international flights (QF1-199), and other eligible connecting flights operated by oneworld, partner and codeshare airlines. Online Check-in opens 24 hours before your flight departure and closes two hours before international flight departures.

Travel on the 'E' line to Manhattan, journey time from Jamaica Station is approximately one hour.
Travel on the Long Island Railroad System to Manhattan, journey time is approximately 30 minutes from Jamaica Station.
