India’s third largest airport, Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International AirportOpens external site in a new window (BLR), known as the gateway to southern India, is located approximately 40km (25 miles) north of the Bengaluru city centre.
Qantas flights QF1 to QF199 operate from Terminal 1. All customers must have either a boarding pass or their itinerary available to show Airport Security prior to entry to the terminal. This is a silent terminal and no announcements are made in this terminal.
International and domestic flights operate from the same terminal. Flights depart from Level 1. Entry points for domestic departures are to the left of the terminal, and for international flights, to the right of the terminal.
Qantas international arrivals to domestic connections
Customers with domestic connections should collect their bags and proceed through immigration. After exiting immigration, customers should follow the signs to the Domestic Transfer area to recheck their bags. A printed or digital boarding pass is required to access this area, and self-service kiosks are also available.
Qantas international arrivals to international connections
On arrival, customers should follow the signs to the International Transfer area. After security checks, customers can proceed to their departure gate for their next flight.
Domestic and international connections to Qantas international departures
Customers may proceed to the Qantas check-in area or to the Qantas departure gate. Check-in locations and departure gate information is displayed on screens throughout the terminal.
Security screening is conducted when entering the airport as well as when entering the departure gate area.
Customers will need to pass through a secondary screening point at the boarding gate and are reminded that an Australian Government liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGS) restrictions apply. Checks are conducted at the gate lounge with all liquids and gels over 100mls not permitted to be brought onboard, including bottled water purchased in the terminal. Duty Free can be purchased and collected directly from the Duty Free store and carried onboard.
There are no ticketing facilities available at the airport. Contact your local Qantas Office for assistance with any ticketing or re-booking requirements.
Check-in opens 3 hours before departure for Qantas operated services, and is located on the ground level.
Online check-in is available for Qantas international flights (QF1-329), and other eligible connecting flights operated by oneworld, partner and codeshare airlines. Online Check-in opens 24 hours before your flight departure and closes 2 hours before international flight departures.
It is an immigration requirement that all customers receive a printed boarding pass prior to proceeding to the immigration queue. Digital boarding passes are not accepted in Bengaluru.

Baggage carousels are located in the arrivals hall. Information monitors display flight carousel numbers. Baggage services are supplied by our Ground Service Partner Air India SATS.

Taxis | Several taxi services operate from the airport. Depending on traffic, it can take up to two hours to travel between the city centre and the airport. A pink taxi service, driven by women, is also available exclusively for women. |
Train | Indian RailwaysOpens external site in a new window operates train services between Kempegowda International Airport Devanahalli station and the city. A shuttle service operates between the station and the airport terminal, which takes approximately five minutes. |
Bus | The BMTC Vayu Vajra bus service operates 24 hours a day, and is an inexpensive alternative for travel to the city. Fares can only be paid in cash when boarding. Check with the BMTC information desk in the terminal for the latest fares and timetables.
