Broken Hill has a hot desert climate, with mild winters and hot, dry summers. The maximum temperature during the summer months (November to March) is about 32°C. The best time to visit is during the cooler months, to avoid the humidity and dust storms. September is a great time to visit to catch the Broken Heel Festival, that features live music and celebrates the iconic film and stage musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. If you plan a visit in April, you can enjoy the Heritage Festival.
