When to visit
With plenty of events happening all year round, it’s easy to find your ideal time to visit the Queensland City of Brisbane. What is the main airport called?
Brisbane Airport (BNE)Opens in a new tab or window. Located a 30-minute drive from the city centre on Airport Drive at Eagle Farm. It is the main airport serving Brisbane and South East Queensland. There are two terminals at Brisbane Airport: International and Domestic.
Arriving at Brisbane Airport
When your flight to Brisbane lands, you’ll be greeted by the staff at Brisbane Airport. From there, it’s really easy to make your way to different parts of the busy city.
Getting into Brisbane
To reach Brisbane’s city centre on a budget, take the Airtrain, which offers fast and affordable access to the CBD in as little as 20 minutes. For a more direct route to the city, look for the taxis, rideshare services and shuttles that can be accessed outside the terminal building. You can also pre-book to hire a car.
Getting around Brisbane
After you’ve made your way into the heart of Brisbane, getting around is easy. The city’s public transport system is both convenient and affordable, with trains, buses and ferries all accessible with a reloadable go card. Alternatively, if you’re planning to visit Brisbane's nearby attractions during your holiday, car hire can be booked in advance or organised on arrival. Walking and cycling are also a great way to get around on more than 1,100km of dedicated pathways.
