If you’ve been vaccinated in Australia, and you're required to provide proof of vaccination for travel, you must show the Australian Government-issued International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) when checking in at the airport. Your domestic proof of immunisation from Medicare will not be accepted.
When travelling on an international flight, you must be prepared to carry and show valid proof of vaccination (or exemption) when it's a requirement for your trip, or you may be denied boarding or entry. It's your responsibility to know your vaccination status and ensure your vaccination certificate meets the requirements.
If you were vaccinated outside of Australia, and don't have an ICVC, you'll need to ensure your vaccination certificate meets the requirements for international travel.
Having a vaccination certificate does not necessarily mean you're considered 'fully vaccinated', as this definition may vary depending on your destination. You'll need to check the latest airline and government travel requirements for each country you're travelling to or transiting through, and ensure your status and documentation meet all requirements that apply to your journey.
If you're unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons, you may still be able to travel with us under certain circumstances.
See more information on COVID-19 vaccination exemptions and medical clearance.
You'll need to ensure you have valid COVID-19 vaccination documentation before you get to the airport. All passengers who are required to be fully vaccinated will need to carry and show proof at check-in when they fly with us.
Paper and digital certificates will be accepted, though they will need to be in English or accompanied by a certified translation. Ensure your certified translation includes the stamp or membership number of a professional translation association, and that the entire certificate is translated, not just part of it.
International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates provide evidence that travellers have been vaccinated, and are a trusted means of proving your COVID-19 vaccination status through a secure QR code.
