All Turtle Rooms are located close to North Beach and set amongst Heron Island’s ancient Pisonia Forest, which comes alive with hundreds of thousands of seabirds during nesting season from October through March. Comfortable and compact, these ground-level rooms are appointed with an en-suite with shower and feature a delightful timber deck and outdoor area. The Turtle Rooms consist of 1 Queen Bed.

All Turtle Family Rooms are set amongst Heron Island’s ancient Pisonia Forest, which comes alive with hundreds of thousands of seabirds during nesting season from October through March. Convenient to the pool and a short walk from the beach, these spacious rooms feature an en-suite bathroom with shower. Family rooms offer a ground floor setting, however one block of four rooms is available with either ground floor or first floor rooms. The Turtle Family rooms include 1 Queen Bed and 2 Single Beds. An additional rollaway bed can be added to the ground floor rooms at a cost of $75 per night.
Located on beautiful North Beach, Reef Rooms are comfortable and spacious with an en-suite bathroom with shower and an outdoor terrace with filtered views through the natural vegetation overlooking the reef. The Reef Rooms consist of 1 Queen Bed and 1 Day Bed. An additional rollaway bed can be added to the ground floor rooms at a cost of $75 per night.

Available on the ground floor or upper levels, Reef Family Rooms offer either partial beach or forest views. These rooms feature an en-suite with shower and an outdoor terrace. The Reef Family Rooms consist of 1 Queen Bed and 2 Single Beds. An additional rollaway bed can be added to the ground floor rooms at a cost of $75 per night.
Offering access to both the Great Barrier Reef and the resort’s beachfront, Beachside Rooms are spacious, with glass sliding doors opening up onto a outdoor balcony or terrace. The living area features partial ocean views, two day beds, an oversized cane chair and a coffee table. These rooms are available on both the upper level and ground floor. The Beachside Rooms consist of 1 King Zipper Bed and 2 Day Beds.
IMPORTANT NOTE Addition Environmental Management Charge paid directly at checkout. The current fee is $7.00 per person per day (for guests 5 years and over) to a maximum fee of $21.00 per person per stay. This fee has been waived by the Australian Government till 30 June 2022. At Heron Island, the resort has been thoughtfully designed to blend with the surrounding environment.In the crystal clear aquamarine waters surrounding the island, stunning coral gardens and sea creatures great and small flourish in abundance and colour. They make Heron Island a natural place for divers, swimmers, and people who love to snorkel. The resort also offers an array of choices for those who like to explore and laze on beaches far from crowds, with no reef “day-trippers” to spoil the peace and quiet. Please Note: Heron Island is accessible by boat and helicopter from Gladstone. The boat transfer will depart Gladstone for Heron Island at 09:30 daily, except Tuesdays and Thursdays. The return boat transfer will depart from Heron Island at 12:45 daily, except Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Heron Islander will not be operating on Christmas Day, 25 December. The cost of the transfer on the Heron Islander is AU $75 per adult each way and AU $38 per child each way.
