Discover Singapore

Consisting of 64 separate islands, Singapore is known as much for its colourful culture and green spaces as much as its iconic skyline. The internationally famed cuisine, vibrant nightlife, packed event calendar and breathtaking natural wonders make it an exciting destination no matter what the time of year.

What are the must-see attractions in Singapore?

Put simply, Singapore is a must-see attraction in its own right. Here are, however, some more specific must-see attractions to get you started on your next Singaporean adventure.

While Singapore is rightfully renowned as one of the world's great shopping destinations, it's not just those with a taste for the high end brands that will love Singapore. With fantastic shopping experiences to be had on any budget, you'll definitely find the holiday bargains you've been looking for.

Want to start at the top? Then head to Orchard Road - Singapore's main shopping street and home to some of Singapore's most exclusive shops, or spend an afternoon in Kampong Glam's Haji Lane - a haven for independent designers and quirky boutiques. Everton Park, Tiong Bahru and Joo Chiat/Katong are also well worth a visit for that authentic Singaporean experience.

To say that Singapore is a nature lover's paradise is the ultimate understatement. Situated less than 100km north of the equator, Singapore's tropical climate means warm days and nights and some of the world's most beautiful garden spaces. Head into the Singapore Botanic Gardens (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and visit the world's most extensive orchid garden, ancient rainforest and beautiful lakes.

There's few images that quite sum up Singapore's tropical location quite as well as Gardens by the Bay. A remarkable 101 hectare green space in one of the most urbanised countries on the planet, giant biodomes recreate various landscapes, while massive artificial structures called Supertrees dominate the gardens from on high. Be sure to pop by every night between 7:45 and 8:45 for the spectacular Garden Rhapsody sound and light show.

Yet it's not just the flora that makes Singapore a destination worth visiting for nature lovers. Part of the Sentosa Island attractions, the S.E.A Aquarium is simply spectacular. The world's largest aquarium, with 45 different habitats showcasing over 100,000 marine animals and 1,000 plus species.

Once you've spent a day here, head to the Night Safari - the world's first safari for nocturnal animals. An 86 acre reserve housing approximately 2,500 animals from 130 species, guided trams will take you across seven geographically themed environments.

If you're searching for a Singapore that is more traditional, then be sure to head to the island of Pula Ubin. The small number of residents have held tightly to a more traditional way of life, so take a relaxing day trip and see Singapore how it used to be decades ago. For the opposite experience, take the lift up to the top of the Marina Bay Sands and dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant or swim in the world's largest infinity pool.

Merlion Park, overlooking Marina Bay, is a promenade that hosts the famous 9m high statue of the Merlion - a half fish, half lion carving that is a symbol of Singapore, melding its fishing village roots with the Malay name Singapura, which means Lion City. Keep walking and you'll find open air food courts, theatres, museums and stunning views across the skyline.

If it's an action packed adventure you want, take a day or two and visit Universal Studios. The star attraction of Resorts World on Sentosa Island, this is one of Asia's best adventure parks for families. To make the most of Sentosa, purchase a Sentosa FUN Pass for a more affordable way to visit the area's many attractions.

Whatever it is you're looking for, Singapore is sure to have it. So why wait? Book your next Singapore Holiday Package today.
