Special flight from the United Kingdom to Australia
As the national carrier, we're proud to operate selected flights on behalf of the Australian Federal Government to bring more Australians home during this unprecedented time.
Before booking, ensure you check the latest Australian government travel restrictionsOpens external site in a new window and information on quarantine. There is a travel ban in place in Australia. Any passenger who is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident will require a valid visa, and an exemption to the travel ban, to board these flights.
Passengers wishing to transit Australia and continue onto another country won't be accepted for travel.

We’ll be operating the following flights:
- QF110, departing London Heathrow at 9.05am on 2 May, arriving Darwin at 10am on 3 May 2021.
- QF110, departing London Heathrow at 9.05am on 3 May, arriving Darwin at 10am on 4 May 2021.
- QF110, departing London Heathrow at 9.05am on 16 May, arriving Darwin at 10am on 17 May 2021.
- QF110, departing London Heathrow at 9.05am on 24 May, arriving Darwin at 10am on 25 May 2021.
Note: flights from London Heathrow depart from Terminal 2.
These flights are being operated for repatriation purposes and services on these flights will be significantly reduced, including the following:
- limited onboard food and bottles of water. Should you wish to bring food and non-alcoholic drinks for your flight, you’re welcome to do so. Note: as galley storage space is restricted, items you bring will need to be stored in your carry-on baggage. Drinks you choose to bring will also need to comply with any powders, liquids, aerosols and gels screening requirements where applicable.
- Inflight entertainment isn't available and we recommend you bring alternative material for your entertainment.
- Qantas Frequent Flyer benefits (Status Credits, Qantas Points and the option to upgrade with points) will not apply.
- Seat selection is unavailable.
- Seats are available until sold out.
- Due to the high number of passengers wanting to travel on these flights, it may not be possible to provide seat separation for all passengers, and you may be seated next to other passengers.

- We're able to accept bookings for a limited number of infants on each flight.
Australian domestic flights
If you're travelling beyond Darwin to return home once your quarantine period has ended, we're offering special one-way Economy fares to a range of destinations across Australia. These special fares are only available if you’re returning home from quarantine in Darwin and may only be available for a limited time, so it’s best to book early.
- If you've booked your onward flight and there is a change to your check-out date, you'll be able to change your flight with no change fee.
- You'll need to make your domestic flight booking through the link below.
- The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will advise the approval booking code to access these fares. Do not forward this code as these fares are only available to customers who return home after quarantining in Darwin.
As soon as you’ve completed your booking, you’ll need to provide your passport information. To do this:
- Enter your booking reference and last name at Manage booking, and then click on ‘Continue’.
- Under the passenger information section, click on the ‘Enter APIS’ button.
- Complete the Advanced Passenger Information section.
- Read and then tick the acknowledgment box and click on ‘Submit’ to save your information.
Note: we require your passport details in advance as a requirement of travel and your booking won't be confirmed until we've received this information.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition, you'll also be required to complete a travel clearance form. Go to our Medical Clearance page to review the information, download the form for completion and return to us as soon as possible.
Government travel requirements

Travel from the United Kingdom
National travel restrictions – you can only travel for essential reasons
While national restrictions are in place, you can only travel internationally from England for legally permitted reasonsOpens external site in a new window. This doesn't include holidays.
You must complete a travel declaration formOpens external site in a new window and carry it with you, along with any evidence supporting the reason for your trip. You may be required to show the form at the port of departure.
It's an offence to enter a port of departure or embarkation point without a properly completed form if you're travelling internationally. Some job related exemptions apply. You may be issued with a fixed penalty notice and directed to return home if you don't have a valid reason for travel.
COVID-19 testing and health checks
Before being accepted for travel, you’ll be required to:
- undergo a COVID-19 test at a Qantas designated test provider, between 48 and 24 hours before the time of your departure (children aged under 5 are exempt), and have a negative result. The test will be conducted at no cost to you. A copy of your results will be sent to us from the test provider and noted in your booking for medical clearance.
- complete the Australian Travel DeclarationOpens external site in a new window at least 72 hours before departure, and present a copy of your confirmation email at check-in;
- complete a Howard Springs Quarantine questionnaireOpens external site in a new window to assist with your arrival and quarantine stay in Darwin,
- complete the pre-travel health screen form online, and
- have your temperature taken at the airport.
Information regarding the check-in process and COVID-19 testing facilities will be provided once your booking has been made.
Wearing face masks
- On boarding the aircraft, you’ll be provided with a face mask and a disposal bag for used masks. Face masks must be worn for the duration of the flight. You’ll also be required to change your mask every two hours throughout the flight, and replacement masks will be provided.
- You may also be required to wear a face mask in the terminals before departure and on arrival.
- Check the latest Government requirements for information on wearing face masks at your destination.
Business and Premium Economy:
- Carry-on baggage must not exceed 2 pieces, weighing a maximum of 14kgs combined per passenger (one piece cannot weigh more than 10kgs).
- Checked baggage allowance is 40kgs per passenger, where the total dimensions for each piece must not exceed 158cm (62in). You can calculate the dimensions by adding together the width, height and depth of the piece of baggage.
- Carry-on baggage must not exceed 1 piece, weighing a maximum of 7kgs per passenger.
- Checked baggage allowance is 30kgs per passenger, where the total dimensions for each piece must not exceed 158cm (62in). You can calculate the dimensions by adding together the width, height and depth of the piece of baggage.
If you need an additional checked baggage allowance, you can purchase it online before travel. Note: excess baggage can't be purchased at the airport before departure.
