International network changes

We continue to review and update our international schedule in response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

We're now planning to restart regular international passenger flights to most destinations from 31 October 2021, in line with the expected timeframe for Australia's COVID-19 vaccine rollout to be effectively complete.

Our flights between New Zealand and Australia continue to operate, with plans for flights to increase from 1 July 2021.

As the national carrier, we're proud to operate additional services from Australia to London, UK and to Frankfurt, Germany to bring more people home during this time.

Due to high demand, we're experiencing some delays in call wait times and the processing of flight credits, refunds and other options.

If your flights were booked through a travel agency or third-party website, contact these companies directly for assistance.

Check your booking or flight status for the most up-to-date information on your flights.

Flying soon?

Due to high demand, we ask for you to wait to be contacted unless your travel is imminent.

If you have an existing booking for an international flight that is impacted by schedule changes, we'll contact you as soon as possible and provide you with a number of options, including a refund for any flights cancelled by us. You don’t need to do anything, and you won’t be charged any cancellation fees. You can choose to cancel your flight yourself. However, if you do, you may be charged a cancellation fee in accordance with your fare rules.

We’ll continue to work closely with the Australian Federal Government around the reopening of borders to support COVID-safe international travel.

Temporary inflight and airport service changes

Due to the reduction in travel demand and government restrictions we have temporarily changed some of our services. This includes a significantly reduced food and beverage and inflight entertainment offering, as well as the closure of all lounges, meeting rooms and valet parking.
