It is in the north of Phuket Island, 32 kilometres from the centre of Phuket City. It takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to get to Phuket town. The airport plays a major role in Thailand's tourism industry, as Phuket Island is a popular resort destination.

Getting into Phuket from Phuket Airport

The best way is to take a metered taxi with counters located outside both the domestic and international terminals. You may wish to take a limousine or minibus service for a comfortable trip to your accommodation. Grab is the ride share service available in Phuket, along with private transfers, car hire or arrange a hotel shuttle. Phuket Smart Bus is the airport bus with hourly services to popular tourist beaches, for a cost-effective way to get to your destination.
Getting around Phuket
Getting around Phuket is easy, as the island has many transport options. Most of the resorts are small enough to walk around, with popular resorts and hotels located close to the beach, restaurants and shopping areas. Taxis and tuk-tuks are some of the best ways to get around and are relatively inexpensive. To explore Phuket at your own pace, you can hire a car, motorcycle or book a ride share service through the Grab app. There are local buses (songtaews) along with air-conditioned minibuses that service the town.
