Learn how we continue to contribute to a low carbon economy with our integrated approach.

Qantas has been offsetting carbon pollution for more than a decade - our offsetting program is the largest of any airline. Carbon offsetting is a key tool in aviation’s global transition to a low carbon economy, and in meeting our international commitments of carbon neutral growth from 2020 and a 50 per cent reduction in net emissions by 2050.

Since 2007, Qantas has offset its own ground and corporate travel emissions. Through our Fly Carbon Neutral Program, a Qantas customer offsets their flight every 59 seconds.

In July we launched the biggest change to the Fly Carbon Neutral since its inception a decade ago – Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards customers now earn 10 Qantas Points for every dollar spent on offsetting.

Our carbon offset portfolio reflects the strategic priorities of the Qantas Group - including our commitment to support Indigenous economic development through our Reconciliation Action Plan, and the promotion and protection of iconic natural places like the Great Barrier Reef.

Through Qantas Future Planet, we're partnering with other leading businesses to offset their carbon emissions, leveraging the internal capability we have built through our own program. More than 30 businesses carbon offset through Qantas Future Planet, including DHL, ANZ, Allens Linklaters and Australia Post, and demand is increasing.
