Acting responsibly

For consumer brands especially, protecting value is also about maintaining a social licence to operate.

Central to this is maintaining high operational standards, acting responsibly and being transparent.

We hold ourselves to high standards in everything we do and give others the information to evaluate our performance. The three principles that guide us are:

  • operating with integrity (through our safety, people, community and environment strategies).
  • strong corporate governance
  • transparency in reporting.

“For Qantas, doing business responsibly isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s also the smart thing to do. A clear social purpose helps attract new generations of customers and employees; a proactive response to climate change gives us the licence to grow over the long-term; robust supply chain policies help us expand responsibly into emerging markets – the list goes on.” — Alan Joyce, Qantas Group CEO, letter to UN Secretary General
