NAIDOC Week 2023

Qantas is proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week – For Our Elders

At Qantas, we strive to reflect the spirit of Australia. That spirit isn’t 200 years old. It’s over 60,000 years old.

It’s an unbelievably vast history of people, culture and knowledge.

Through our commitment to advancing national reconciliation, we seek to honour that knowledge, celebrate those cultures, and make amends for past wrongs.

Qantas is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of National NAIDOC Week and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About NAIDOC

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

NAIDOC history

NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

Reconciliation at Qantas

We want to foster a shared national identity where Australians take pride in our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and contemporary cultures. This is critical to our reconciliation vision of shared national identity, grounded in social and cultural inclusion.
