There's a better way to carry your travel money

If you have a Qantas Card, flip it over and you'll notice a MasterCard® logo on the back. That's because we've built a way to earn Qantas Points* into the card. It's called Qantas Cash, and it's a pre-paid money card that you can use at whilst at home or abroad. Simply activate and load with funds, and you'll earn Qantas Points on all eligible purchases*:

  • Earn 1 point for every $2 you spend on eligible purchases* in New Zealand Dollars
  • Earn 1 point for every NZ$1 equivalent you spend on eligible purchases* in foreign currency

But, there's more to Qantas Cash than just points:

  • Load up to 9 currencies including NZ Dollars
  • Pay no monthly account or load fees^
  • Use at millions of MasterCard locations worldwide#
  • Chip & PIN security, with access to emergency funds if your card is lost or stolen

Important information:
To be eligible to receive the Qantas Card with the option of Qantas Cash you must be a New Zealand resident Qantas Frequent Flyer member 16 years of age or older. Qantas Cash is a prepaid MasterCard payment facility built into the back of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership Card. Qantas Cash is an unsecured debt security issued by Travelex Card Services Limited (the "Issuer"), a member of the Travelex Group. Qantas Cash is not guaranteed by any member of the Travelex Group or any other entity. MasterCard and the MasterCard Brand Mark are registered trademarks of MasterCard International Incorporated.
MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited distributes Qantas Cash together with Qantas. MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited can be contacted at customercare@qantascash.co.nz.
MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited and Qantas Airways Limited earn foreign exchange revenue from Qantas Cash transactions. MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited receives a processing fee from domestic Qantas Cash "point of sale" transactions. Qantas receives revenue generated by Qantas Cash transactions based on interchange fees paid to the Issuer, deposits held by the Issuer, cardholder fees and certain rebates and incentives from MasterCard Asia/Pacific Pte Ltd.

* Qantas Points are earned on eligible purchases in accordance with the terms and conditions specified at qantascash.co.nz. Eligible purchases do not include money orders, traveller’s cheques, gambling chips, adult entertainment or purchasing foreign currencies in cash. You do not earn Qantas Points when loading funds to your facility, transferring funds to another currency balance or to another member’s facility or when withdrawing funds from ATMs or cashing out your facility balance. Purchases that are reversed, refunded or charged-back are also ineligible for points earn, in addition to fees incurred.
+ Exchange rates for initial loads and subsequent reloads made using Bank Transfer via qantascash.co.nz will be set at the prevailing exchange rate set out at qantascash.co.nz at the time you request the load provided you settle the transaction within four hours. Different exchange rates apply for loads initiated directly via Bank Transfer using your Unique Payment Details (i.e. not via qantascash.co.nz). If you initiate a load or reload via Bank Transfer using your Unique Payment Details, the exchange rate applied will be the prevailing exchange rate at the time the funds are received into your facility. # Qantas Cash is unable to be used for purchases related to gambling or adult entertainment. Although the MasterCard Acceptance Mark may be displayed, Qantas Cash may not operate in some countries and geographical regions, due to restrictions. Please verify the list of countries and regions with restrictions at qantascash.co.nz. If you attempt to withdraw cash from an ATM or use your Card at merchants in any of these countries and geographical regions, your request will be declined. In addition, ATMs or POS terminals may not be owned or operated by the Issuer or MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited and the Issuer and MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited are not responsible for ensuring that merchants will accept the Card. For example, the Issuer and MasterCard Prepaid Management Services (NZ) Limited cannot control when an ATM or POS terminal is due for maintenance or is faulty or if a merchant chooses not to accept the Card.
