Earning Qantas Points

From 1 December 2015 you'll earn Qantas Points based on where you fly, as well as your choice of airline and the fare purchased, on eligible fares and flights with Alitalia. Find out how much you could earn with our calculator.

Note: Qantas Points can be earned on eligible fares and flights with an AZ flight number or operated by Alitalia up to 31 March 2016. From 1 April 2016, members will no longer be able to earn or use Qantas Points on flights with an AZ flight number or operated by Alitalia.

Using Qantas Points

You can use your Qantas Points on Alitalia for a:

> Classic Flight Reward - our most popular and best value Reward Flight option. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to the Qantas Points required for Classic Flight Rewards

Call Award flight reservations to make a Classic Flight Reward booking. An Award Assistance Fee applies for Reward bookings made or completed worldwide via a consultant.

Note: Classic Flight Reward bookings can only be made on Alitalia (ZA) flights until 31 March 2016. From 1 April 2016, Alitalia flights will not be eligible for Classic Flight Reward bookings.

* Qantas Points and Status Credits (where applicable) are earned on eligible flights with that airline's flight number on your ticket. Qantas Points and Status Credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes. ~ Classic Flight Reward seats are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited, particularly around peak times such as school and public holidays. Some flights may not have any Classic Flight Reward seats available. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to the Qantas Points required, are subject to change and are quoted at the time of booking. The ability to redeem Qantas Points for taxes, fees and carrier charges for eligible travel entirely within Australia and selected international flights commencing in Australia is only available when booking at qantas.com and 'Search Qantas & Partner Classic Flight Rewards' is not ticked before searching for flights. For eligible travel entirely within New Zealand, the ability to redeem Qantas Points for taxes, fees and carrier charges is only available when booking at qantas.com and 'Search Qantas & Partner Classic Awards' is ticked before searching for flights. Classic Flight Reward seats must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure unless booking on qantas.com where Reward bookings may be booked up to 2 hours before scheduled departure for domestic flights or up to 4 hours for international flights (and other advance booking requirements may apply). Classic Flight Rewards are not available on some routes of oneworld alliance and partner airlines and some restrictions may apply.
