A new way to upgrade

Use your points to request an upgrade on Classic Flight Rewards

We're always looking for new and exciting ways for you to use your points - especially when you travel.

That's why from 1 March 2016, when you make an Economy or Premium Economy Classic Flight Reward~ booking, you can now use your Qantas Points* to request an upgrade^ from:

  • Economy to Premium Economy
  • Economy to Business
  • Premium Economy to Business

This is in addition to the recent reduction in Qantas Points and carrier charges required for selected Qantas International Economy Classic Flight Rewards+. Find out more here.

Qantas Points shown are for Classic Upgrade Rewards confirmed before 20 February 2017. Effective for upgrades requested from 16 November 2016 and confirmed on or after 20 February 2017, the Qantas Points required for Classic Upgrade Rewards will increase. Find out more.

Important Information:
~ Classic Flight Rewards are available on Qantas, Jetstar and partner airlines. Classic Flight Reward seats are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited particularly around peak times such as school and public holidays. The number of seats available depends on the flight, date, season and destination and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Rewards available. Classic Flight Reward fare conditions apply and are provided during booking. Reward flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (and other advance booking requirements may apply), unless you are booking on qantas.com where you can book up to 2 hours before departure for domestic flights or up to 4 hours before departure for international flights. * You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and redeem Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and the earning and redemption of Qantas Points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions.
^ Classic Upgrade Rewards are available on Classic Flight Rewards in Economy and Premium Economy and eligible paid and confirmed Qantas domestic and international flights, with a QF flight number on your ticket and from time to time on codeshare flights operated by another carrier that have a Qantas (QF) flight number on your ticket.
