We have some great news to ensure 2016 is even more rewarding for you! From today, we've reduced the Qantas Points and carrier charges required for selected Qantas International Economy Classic Flight Rewards* booked on and from 6 January 2016*.

We're also reducing the points required for selected International Economy Classic Flight Rewards with some of our partner airlines, including American Airlines®, Emirates and Fiji Airways.

Qantas Points savings with partner airlines

Save Qantas Points with selected partner airlines on new Classic Flight Rewards. These savings apply to bookings made on and from 6 January 2016 with Qantas, Airnorth, Fiji Airways, Air Vanuatu, American Airlines®, Emirates, Jetstar+ and QantasLink.

What is changing? We are reducing the number of Qantas Points and carrier charges required for selected Qantas International Economy Classic Flight Rewards.
Why is the change happening? We understand the importance of Classic Rewards for our members and we continue to look at new and improved ways to earn and use Qantas Points.
Who will this change affect? We are reducing the number of Qantas Points required and carrier charges for Economy Classic Flight Rewards on Qantas that fall within zones 4-10 of the Qantas Classic Flight Reward table. This includes selected international destinations across Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa. The number of points required on selected Economy Classic Flight Rewards with some of our partner airlines have also been reduced.
When is the change effective from? The reduced number of Qantas Points and carrier charges required for selected Qantas Economy Classic Flight Rewards will apply to new bookings made from 11am (AEDT) 6 January 2016.
What if I have made a Classic Flight Reward booking prior to 11am (AEDT) 6 January 2016? The reduced number of Qantas Points and carrier charges required for selected Qantas Economy Classic Flight Rewards will only apply to new bookings made from 11am (AEDT) 6 January 2016. For customers who have made bookings prior to 11am (AEDT) 6 January 2016 and want to take advantage of the reduced points required providing travel has not commenced, customers would need to cancel their existing booking (cancellation fee applies) and make a new booking subject to seats being available.
Does this change affect Points Plus Pay - Flights? No, these changes do not affect Points Plus Pay - Flights.
Will Classic Flight Rewards that fall within zones 1-3 of the Qantas Classic Flight Reward table be reduced in the future? No, there are no plans to change the points required for zones 1-3.
Will Premium Economy, Business and First Classic Flight Rewards be reduced in the future? No, points in premium cabins will not be reduced.
Are the points required for Jetstar or Partner Classic Flight Rewards being reduced? No, the number of Qantas Points required for Jetstar or other Partner Classic Flight Rewards will not change. Reductions to selected Classic Flight Rewards will apply for partner airlines included on the Qantas Classic Flight Rewards table. These partners include American Airlines®, Emirates and Fiji Airways.
Are oneworld® Classic Flight Rewards being reduced? No, there are no plans to change oneworld Classic Flight Reward rates.
If I made a Qantas Classic Flight Reward booking before 11am on 6 January 2016, can I change this booking and receive a refund for the difference in Qantas Points and carrier charges? These reductions apply to new bookings made on and from 6 January 2016.  If you choose to change an existing Classic Flight Reward booking a fee of 3,500 Qantas Points will apply. Classic Flight Reward bookings can only be changed in accordance with the Classic Flight Reward conditions.
Please note: Taxes, fees and carrier charges fluctuate daily due to external factors, including exchange rates.

* Selected International Economy Classic Flight Rewards are Classic Flight Rewards in zone 4 to 10 on the Qantas Classic Flight Reward table. Classic Flight Rewards are available on Qantas, Jetstar and partner airlines. Classic Flight Reward seats are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited particularly around peak times such as school and public holidays. The number of seats available depends on the flight, date, season and destination and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Rewards available. Classic Flight Reward fare conditions apply and are provided during booking. Reward flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (and other advance booking requirements may apply), unless you are booking on qantas.com where you can book up to two hours before departure for domestic flights or up to four hours before departure for international flights. a) the Qantas Classic Flight Reward table; or
b) the sum of points, breaking the Trip into multiple Trips wherever the carrier code changes between those carriers that are eligible for the Jetstar table and those carriers that are eligible from the Qantas table.
If the Classic Flight Reward Trip only includes flights with a Jetstar (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K), Jetstar Japan (GK) or Jetstar Pacific (BL) flight number, or a combination thereof, the Jetstar Classic Flight Reward table will apply.
