With four membership tiers above our entry level Bronze, we have lots of ways to reward members.

The higher your tier, the more benefits you receive, such as Status Bonuses (earning a greater number of Qantas Points1 for each eligible flight), priority check-in, lounge access and much more. With every eligible Qantas and Jetstar flight taken, the Status Bonus3 rewards Silver members with 50% more Qantas Points, while Gold members receive 75% more points. Our Platinum and Platinum One members earn 100% more Qantas Points. Eligible flights on American Airlines® also offer a Status Bonus. Earn a Status Bonus3 of 50% more points every time you fly on eligible flights1 with Qantas or Jetstar and 25% more points on American Airlines® and US Airways.5 For every 500 Status Credits2 you earn on eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights, you'll be rewarded with a Qantas Loyalty Bonus. That's 8,000 bonus Qantas Points up to a maximum of 32,000 points per year for Gold, Platinum and Platinum One members.     Choose your seat on Qantas operated international and domestic flights (excluding QantasLink) any time after booking from reserved zones within your booked cabin, subject to availability.   • Preferred seating
    When you make a booking on Qantas in a premium cabin, your seat will be allocated at the time of booking based on your seat preference in your Qantas Frequent Flyer profile. You can make changes to your seat on qantas.com. For Economy bookings, the seat preference in your profile will be allocated at the time of check-in from remaining available seats, unless you have already selected a seat or purchased an extra legroom seat.
  • Preferential access to selected Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats
    Qantas provides preferential access, when available, to our popular Classic Flight Reward seats for Silver, Gold and Platinum Frequent Flyers.9

    Priority boarding is available for Gold members at selected domestic and international airports when travelling with a QF flight number on your ticket.31.
  • Access Premium Security Lanes
    At selected domestic airports, fast track through security and go straight to the Lounge or directly to your flight. Use our dedicated premium security lane to speed through security in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney (T3) domestic airports.
  • On Departure Upgrade requests for domestic flights in Australia
    Use Qantas Points to request an upgrade11 to Business at a Qantas Club lounge up to three hours (but not less than 25 minutes) before departure on selected Australian domestic Qantas flights and selected domestic legs of Qantas international flights.
  • Benefits of oneworld® Sapphire status
    Gold Frequent Flyers enjoy oneworld® Sapphire status around the world with privileges like preferred seating, priority check-in, regardless of the class of travel. View oneworld benefits.

Lounge Access

  • A world of lounge privileges
    Gold members can enjoy access to Qantas Clubs and International Business lounges for you and one guest and up to two children (aged between 4 and 17)35 when flying on eligible Qantas and Jetstar flights. Plus you also have access to over 600 oneworld airline lounges around the world when flying on eligible flights with a oneworld alliance airline. View oneworld lounge locations.
  • Ensure your Qantas Frequent Flyer number is in your booking to be able to access the lounge using your Qantas Frequent Flyer card. You can do this online through Manage Your Booking.

International Lounge access before your flight

  • Qantas Business and associated lounges in more than 28 key Qantas destinations around the world offering fresh, delicious dining options, shower facilities and private work areas. View our worldwide lounge locations.

    Enjoy access for you and one guest to Emirates Lounges throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East, whenever you fly with Qantas or Emirates. In Dubai, you and a guest may enjoy the luxurious Emirates Business Lounge and in other airports, the Emirates Lounges.
    When departing London Heathrow on a Qantas operated aircraft (when travelling on a QF or EK flight number), Gold members can access the British Airways Lounge. When departing London Heathrow on an Emirates operated aircraft (when travelling on a QF or EK flight number) Gold members can access the Emirates Lounge. Children (aged between 0 and 17 years) who hold Gold or Platinum Frequent Flyer status or are travelling in Business or First and accompanied by an adult can access Emirates Lounges.

Successful upgrades may be confirmed via SMS.
  • Preferred seating and preferential access to selected Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats
    On selected flights, preferential access for Platinum members may be above the access available to Gold, Silver and Bronze members9.
  • Priority Economy seat purchase for two passengers
    Priority Economy seat purchase is available when holding or purchasing a Full Economy ticket for up to two people, including the Platinum member. Available on any Qantas operated flight with a Qantas flight number (excluding non-jet QantasLink services), for bookings made before midday on the day before travel10.

Premium service for Rewards

  • A better International upgrade service
    Platinum One members have their International Classic Upgrade Reward11 requests confirmed, where possible, up to seven days prior to departure, which is up to five days earlier than Platinum members. You'll be notified via SMS if your upgrade is successful. You can check the status of your upgrade request at any time in the 'Your Bookings' section of this website.
  • Highest upgrade priority, right up until departure
    You'll receive priority over other Frequent Flyers for International Classic Upgrade Rewards11 right up until the day of departure, giving you the best chance of having your request confirmed. Plus, we'll let you know as soon as possible of your successful upgrade via SMS even on the day of departure.
  • Sharing your points, sharing the benefits
    If you use your points to request a Classic Upgrade Reward for an eligible family member, at the time their upgrade request is reviewed they'll have their upgrade processed at the Platinum One priority level, even if you're not travelling.
  • Exclusive access to extra Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats
    Preferential access to Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats when you book through qantas.com. Platinum One members also have access to extra Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats26 where available, on selected Qantas domestic and international flights with a QF flight number on their ticket.
    This benefit is available for Platinum One members and eligible family members in the same booking. For assistance, please call our Premium Reservations team on the number displayed on the back of your card.
  • No Award Assistance Fees
    Book Reward Flights without paying the usual Flight Award Assistance Fees14.
  • No Booking Fees on new Qantas bookings
    When you call Qantas to make a new eligible booking using Qantas Points or cash15 we'll waive the Booking Fees.
  • Family Transfer Service Fee Waiver
    When you call the Frequent Flyer Service Centre to transfer Qantas Points into or out of your account, we'll waive the Family Transfer Service Fee16.

Before you fly

  • More freedom to fly home sooner
    If you're travelling on a flexible Qantas domestic fare, arrive at the airport earlier than planned, and want to catch an earlier available flight, any fare differential will be waived if the same fare class is not available.
  • Complimentary seat selection with premium seating
    Get access to more seating options in the first few rows of the Economy cabin (subject to availability) when choosing your seat8 at qantas.com. Available on selected Qantas operated flights with a QF number on your ticket. Seat selection is complimentary on Qantas operated domestic (excluding QantasLink) and international flights, with a QF flight number on your ticket.
  • Preferred seating
    Preferential access for Platinum One members may be above the access available to Gold, Silver and Bronze members on selected flights9.
  • Complimentary Extra Legroom seating
    Receive complimentary Extra Legroom seating where available, on selected Qantas operated International flights (flight numbers QF1-QF199). Extra Legroom seating can be requested at Manage Your Booking up until three hours before your scheduled departure.
  • Priority Economy seat purchase for up to two passengers
    Priority Economy seat purchase is available on eligible flights1 when holding or purchasing a Full Economy ticket for up to two people, including the Platinum One member. It is available on any Qantas operated flight with a Qantas flight number (excluding non-jet QantasLink services) for bookings made before midday on the day before travel12.

Important information:
1. Qantas Points and Status Credits (where applicable) are earned on eligible flights with that airline's flight number on your ticket. Qantas Points and Status Credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes. For full details, see terms and conditions and the Airline Earning Tables.
2. Status Credits are earned on eligible Qantas, oneworld alliance airlines, Jetstar Airlines and Fiji Airways flights only - see the Airline Earning Tables for details.
3. The Status Bonus is applied to the actual Qantas Points earned when travelling in the Economy cabin. For travel in premium cabins, the Status Bonus is applied to the Flexible Economy earn rate.
4. Jetstar refers to Jetstar Airlines (JQ), Jetstar Asia (3K), Jetstar Japan (GK) and Jetstar Pacific (BL).
5. For travel on eligible American Airlines and US Airways flights, the Status Bonus is applied to the actual Qantas Points earned when travelling in the Economy cabin. For travel in premium cabins, the Status Bonus is applied to the Flexible Economy earn rate.
6. Priority telephone service is available when calling Qantas Telephone Sales, the Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre and Qantas Customer Care.
7. Preferences accommodated where possible at time of booking for Premium Economy, Business and First and at time of check-in for Economy from remaining available seats on Qantas operated flights and flights with a oneworld alliance airline flight number operated by a oneworld alliance airline, including Qantas.
8. Complimentary Seat Selection (with preferential seating) is available immediately after booking and is at all times subject to availability of requested seats. Seat Selection is available on domestic and international Qantas operated flights with a Qantas flight number (QF1-199 for international and QF400-1349 for domestic, excluding QantasLink) immediately after completing your booking up until 3 hours before your scheduled departure. Seat requests cannot be guaranteed due to operational, safety and security requirements.
9. Preferential access will be provided, when available, to selected Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats for Silver, Gold and Platinum members. On selected flights, preferential access provided to Gold and Platinum members may be above the access available to Silver and Bronze members. Classic Flight Reward seat availability is limited and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Reward seats. When seats are available, preferential access is provided at qantas.com and from Qantas Telephone Sales and Qantas offices, excluding some international locations (Award Assistance Fee applies to assisted bookings).
10. Priority Economy seat purchase is available to Platinum members and above only and is available on Qantas operated flights with a QF flight number on your ticket. Facility may be restricted due to operational constraints. It is available on any Qantas operated flight with a Qantas flight number (excluding non-jet QantasLink services) for bookings made before midday on the day before travel. Pre-purchase and other conditions apply. For full details see terms and conditions.
11. Classic Upgrade Rewards are available on Classic Flight Rewards in Economy and Premium Economy and eligible paid and confirmed Qantas operated domestic and international flights, with a Qantas (QF) flight number on your ticket and from time to time on codeshare flights operated by another carrier with a QF flight number on your ticket. Not available on selected airfares, see qantas.com/upgrade for details.
12. Eligible Family Members receive the same priority as the Platinum One member if using their points.
13. Platinum membership for your Nominated Partner is available for the duration of your Platinum One membership. A Nominated Partner must be the spouse of or in a de facto relationship with the Platinum One member who lives at the same address and has that address stored in their Qantas Frequent Flyer profile. Only one Partner can be nominated for Platinum status per membership year and members can only be linked to one Nominated Partner at any one time. 14. Award Assistance Fees will be waived for Platinum One members when booking Reward Flights and Classic Upgrade Rewards using their points when booking through Qantas Telephone Sales. All other fees continue to apply.
15. To be eligible for the Booking Fee waiver when contacting Qantas Contact Centres, the new booking must have at least one Qantas (QF) flight number and at least one Platinum One member travelling in the booking. The Qantas Contact Centres Booking Fee will be waived for all passengers in the booking, including the Platinum One member. Other fees, including change fees, will continue to apply.
16. The Service Fee for Family Transfers will be waived for any Family Transfer either into or out of the Platinum One member's Frequent flyer account.
17. Complimentary Extra Legroom seating is at all times subject to availability of requested seats through Qantas Contact Centres and is not available online.
18. Where Business counters are not available, check in at either Economy or Premium Economy counters.
19. Only available when booked on fares permitting waitlist for travel on selected Qantas operated flights with a QF flight number on your ticket. Check booking for fare conditions.

24. Only Status Credits earned on eligible flights with a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar Group (JQ, 3K, GK or BL) flight number within a Membership Year count towards the required threshold for this benefit. Bonus Qantas Points will appear in the member's account within 5 business days of achieving the required threshold.
25. Premium membership of Qantas epiQure and its benefits are subject to the Qantas epiQure terms and conditions. You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member aged 18 years of age and over and have an Australian delivery address to purchase from Qantas epiQure. A joining fee for the Qantas Frequent Flyer program may apply. Membership of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and the earning and redemption of Qantas Points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable by an Accepted Payment Card in addition to the Qantas Points required on Classic Flight Rewards. 34. Classic Upgrade Reward registrations are prioritised according to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership level: Platinum first, followed by Gold, Silver and then Bronze.
35. Children aged 3 years and under are permitted into the lounge subject to capacity.
36. Extra baggage allowance benefits differ for Sapphire and Emerald level members and do not apply to British Airways’ “hand baggage only” fares. For domestic routes operated by LAN Airlines, Sapphire members may check in up to two bags with a combined weight not exceeding 23 kgs.

On flights operated or marketed by any oneworld partner airline, Sapphire members travelling in Economy and Premium Economy on international or domestic itineraries using the baggage allowance “weight” system receive 15 kgs in addition to the ticketed Economy allowance; on international itineraries (including domestic sectors flown as part of international itineraries) using the baggage allowance “piece” system – receive a second bag, weighing up to 23 kgs, when the ticketed allowance is one bag; on purely domestic itineraries with flights using the baggage allowance “piece” system – the assurance of at least one piece of checked baggage, weighing up to 23 kgs, even when the regular ticketed allowance has no free allowance.
