How will I know if I've successfully linked my Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts?

You'll be able to check whether your Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts are linked from either the Uber or Qantas apps.

From the Uber App:

  1. Tap Account, then Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Rewards.
  3. Once linked, you'll see 'Linked' under the Qantas Frequent Flyer section.
I'm taking an eligible ride with someone else, will we both earn Qantas Points?

Qantas Points can only be earned on split fares where the eligible ride has been completed, and any riders that are in the split fare have already linked their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts.

If you haven't linked your Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts before completing the trip, then you won't earn Qantas Points on the fare.

Qantas Points cannot be split between two or more members taking the same eligible ride if only one member pays for the ride. The member who has requested and paid for the ride will earn the points.

How long will it take for Qantas Points to be credited to my Qantas Frequent Flyer account?
Qantas Points may be credited to your account within 24 hours after the trip is completed and paid for in full, but allow a maximum of six weeks for this to occur.
What airport trips can I earn Qantas Points on?
Earn Qantas Points on trips to or from the Australian airports listed in the preceeding section.

To earn Qantas Points on Eligible Rides, members must set up or link their Qantas Frequent Flyer and Uber accounts via this page, then request an Eligible Ride via the Qantas or Uber app and complete that ride.

An Eligible Ride is an Uber ride excluding Uber Taxi and Uber Eats requested using the Uber or Qantas app to or from any of the following Australian airports: Adelaide, Avalon, Ballina/Byron Bay, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Devonport, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne, Mildura, Newcastle, Perth, Proserpine/Whitsundays, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Toowoomba and Townsville. Qantas Points cannot be earned on cancelled or no-show trip requests.

Linked members will earn:
- Uber Reserve: 1 Qantas Point per A$1 spent when you book and complete an Uber Reserve trip to or from an eligible airport, or
- Other Uber trips: 1 Qantas Point per A$2 spent when you book and complete any other Uber trip to or from an eligible airport.

Qantas Points can only be earned on split fares where an eligible ride has been completed and members have already linked their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts. If a member, regardless of whether they requested the Uber ride or not has not linked their Uber or Frequent Flyer accounts, then they will not earn Qantas Points. Qantas Points cannot be split between two or more members taking the same eligible ride if only one member pays for the ride. The member who has requested and paid for the ride will earn the points. If you aren't a Qantas Frequent Flyer, Uber customers can join for free.

Membership and Qantas Points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program terms and conditions. The following terms and conditions exist in addition to the Uber terms and conditions, which govern all rides or ride requests. Qantas and Uber may change the number of Qantas Points earned or eligibility requirements from time to time. Qantas Points may be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 24 hours after the trip is completed and paid for in full, but allow for a maximum of six weeks for this to occur. The Uber App is a technology service to help connect riders and independent driver partners, and neither Uber nor Qantas are transport providers for rides requested or taken using the Qantas or Uber app.
