Excess and heavy baggage charges at the airport
Avoiding extra charges
When you get to the airport to check in, if your baggage exceeds the weight or total number of pieces that’s included in your checked allowance, you’ll need to pay an excess baggage or heavy charge.
The cost of these is more than the cost of pre-purchasing additional baggage before your flight, so it pays to plan ahead.
When do excess and heavy baggage charges apply?
Airport excess baggage and/or heavy charges will apply if your checked baggage at the airport exceeds:
-
your included baggage allowance; or
