A designer history
Some famous names have designed Qantas uniforms over our more-than 100-year history, including Peter Morrissey, Yves Saint Laurent, George Gross and Harry Who, Emilio Pucci and Martin Grant.
Our next chapter will arrive in 2027, with a brand-new uniform by Australian designer Rebecca Vallance. More than 17,500 Qantas people who wear the uniform shared their input to help shape the brief, making sure the design reflects the needs of those who wear it every day.
The current Qantas uniform
In 2013, acclaimed Australian designer Martin Grant, created our tenth uniform since 1938.
Inspired by the Qantas logo, the collection is fresh and contemporary, yet relaxed and practical for the many roles our team perform.
The palette of French navy, Qantas red, ruby red and fuchsia, with garments designed to flatter all body shapes. Martin's signature bold stripe made the look instantly recognisable in the sky and on the ground.
In 2016, Martin Grant also designed a pilot uniform in time for the delivery of our first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Made with pure Australian merino wool, the tailored suit nods to Qantas' earliest designs while offering comfort across different climates.
About our next uniform designer - Rebecca Vallance
Following a nationwide search and competitive process, Rebecca Vallance has been appointed to design the next Qantas uniform.
One of Australia's most successful fashion designers, Rebecca is known for her sophisticated yet modern style. Her appointment marks the first major update in more than a decade and will align with our broader transformation, from new aircraft to the launch of Project Sunrise.
Rebecca Vallance said her design will celebrate the people who make Qantas such a beloved part of Australia's story.
"It's an honour to create a uniform that reflects the Qantas spirit, combining modern sophistication with comfort for the people who wear it every day."
The new Rebecca Vallance Qantas uniform is set to debut in 2027, replacing the current design by Martin Grant.
