Travel from New Zealand to selected states in Australia
The Australian government has announced a Safe Travel ZoneOpens external site in a new window with New Zealand.
All travellers into Australia are required to present at check-in:
- an Australian Travel DeclarationOpens external site confirming that you've been in New Zealand 14 days before your date of departure and haven't been in an area designated as a COVID-19 hotspot. Note: Auckland has been designated at as COVID-19 hotspot.

Travel from Australia to New Zealand
If you're travelling from Australia to New Zealand restrictions remain in place.
Ensure you meet the Australian GovernmentOpens external site in a new window requirements to depart Australia and the New Zealand GovernmentOpens external site in a new window requirements to enter New Zealand.
If you're eligible for travel, the following requirements apply:
- Before booking your flight, visit the Manage Isolation Quarantine GovernmentOpens external site in a new window website to register for a Managed Isolation Allocation System Voucher, which will be required at check-in. You'll have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in New Zealand.
- Note: there's a hotel quarantine cap in New Zealand and if you're unable to secure a hotel voucher, you'll need to defer your travel plans.
- You are not transiting from an international flight.

Note: Qantas International Lounges are currently closed in Sydney, Auckland and Christchurch.
Some Australian states and territories have introduced new measures, including additional health and safety protocols, in response to Coronavirus that may impact interstate travel.

The Australian GovernmentOpens external site in a new window has implemented immigration measures which allow only Australian citizens, residents and immediate family members to travel to Australia. The government has also advised that all new arrivals are required to self-isolate for 14 days.
Before travelling to Australia,
- you must complete the Australian Travel DeclarationOpens external site in a new window at least 72 hours before departure and present a copy of your confirmation email at check-in.
- you must undergo a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of departure, and present a copy of your negative test result at check-in. Visit the Australian Government Department of HealthOpens external site in a new window website for more information and test document requirements.

Essential information to enter the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom is taking steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
- All persons (including UK nationals and residents) arriving in the UK from outside the common travel area must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of departure to the UK. - To protect your health and others’, everyone must complete an online passenger locator formOpens external site in a new window before departure, unless you are exemptOpens external site in a new window. You’ll need to complete this form online and submit it to the United Kingdom Home Office before arriving at the airport for your flight. Then, present your travel approval at check-in, and on arrival in the United Kingdom.
- All arrivals must quarantine for 10 days unless exempt. If you have travelled through a red list countryOpens external site in a new window in the last 10 days, you must have a valid managed quarantine facilityOpens external site in a new window booked prior to departure. - Everyone is required to take a coronavirus test on days 2 and 8 of their quarantine. You must have this booked prior to departure. For information, visit how to quarantine when you arrive in EnglandOpens external site in a new window.
- It is a legal requirement that you wear a face covering on public transport in the UK.

COVID-19 test
Before you're accepted for travel to, or via the UK, you’ll be required to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test.
- Your COVID-19 PCR test must be completed within three days of departure.
- You must have a negative result.
- You must carry a copy of your test results, either a paper copy or a digital copy (text message/email), as you may be asked to provide proof of your negative test result on departure and on arrival in the United Kingdom.

Enhanced travel measures by the Government of Canada
- All travellers 5 years of age and older flying to Canada from another country are required to provide proof of a pre-departure COVID-19 molecular test to enter Canada, unless exempt. You must have a negative test result within 72 hours of your scheduled flight departure, or a positive test result between 15 and 90 days of your scheduled flight departure. If your rest result is inconclusive, you won’t be able to travel.
- On arrival in Canada, you're required to undergo a COVID-19 test, unless you're exempt. For travel to Vancouver, you can pre-register for this test with LifeLabsOpens external site in a new window. If your test result is negative, you can leave the hotel to finish the remainder of your 14 day quarantine period at a suitable facility. If you test positive, you'll need to quarantine for 14 days in a designated government quarantine facility.
- While waiting for your results, you're required to stay in a government approved hotel at your cost. You'll need to pre-book your accommodationOpens external site in a new window before your departure. The cost of your accommodation includes the room, food, cleaning, infection prevention and control measures, security and transportation.
- Before departure, you’ll need to submit a suitable quarantine plan, which includes your travel and contact information and health-related questions to the Canadian Government through the ArriveCAN websiteOpens external site in a new window or the app. If you haven’t submitted this information before departure, or if you knowingly provide any false or misleading information you may be subject to a monetary penalty, up to C$5,000.
All international arrival and transit passengers, regardless of nationality or visa status, will need to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR-test result issued within three business days before boarding their flight to Taiwan.

When international flights resume, governments and airlines may introduce requirements for passengers to have proof of a COVID vaccination. For more information, read the press releaseOpens external site in a new window.
Following outbreaks of measles in the region, the Solomon Islands Government has issued a Travel Advisory, requiring visitors from countries including Australia, and Solomon Islands residents travelling to Australia and other destinations, to show proof of vaccination.
To enter the Solomon Islands, you'll need to show proof you have been vaccinated against measles at least 15 days before your arrival. Bring your official vaccination record with you in your carry-on bag. Travellers without evidence of vaccination may need to undergo a medical examination.
