Located in the heart of Double Bay, a new restaurant by Neil Perry is emerging and will soon open its doors to Sydney.

Margaret, named after his late mother, is a neighbourhood restaurant where the caring and generous nature of Neil’s mother is at the core of the guests’ experience.

“I want Margaret to be a place where all are welcome and where memories are made. It will be a meeting place where people have a choice of a light or long lunch, a celebration with family and friends or a quick drink after work”, Neil said.

Neil uses his extensive cooking experience and influences from around the world, including Asia and the Mediterranean to create a modern Australian cuisine.

Margaret runs on the philosophy that only the best will do, with produce, craft, simplicity and quality at the heart of the restaurant. Neil will work with his network of sustainable fisherman from around Australia and organic farms from Sydney surrounds and local chicken, pork and beef suppliers to provide a true ocean or paddock to plate experience.

For Neil, it is important that this philosophy runs through the entire restaurant experience, including the beverages, food and design.

Margaret was designed through a collaboration between Australia’s most highly regarded design studios Caon and Acme. The restaurant displays smooth clean lines and earthy tones mixed with an array of textures that bring the space together with large cedar framed double story windows overlooking Bay Street and Guilfoyle Avenue.

Margaret opens 26 June 2021.
