If you wish to change your travel dates, we’ll waive the change fee. If you wish to cancel, we’ll waive the cancellation fee. The total Qantas Points used and any taxes, fees and carrier charges paid will be refunded. The points fee waiver applies to itineraries that consist only of Classic Flight Rewards. If you combine a Classic Flight Reward with a non-Classic Flight Reward fare, this cancellation fee waiver won’t apply. Yes, with the new point fee waiver policy you can now change or cancel your existing Classic Flight Reward booking for free, until 30 June 2022, providing the booking contains Classic Flight Reward seats only, and not a commercial fare.
Does the point fee waiver apply to both domestic and international Classic Flight Reward bookings?
Yes, the point fee waiver applies to both Domestic and International bookings that contain only Classic Flight Reward flights.
I have a Classic Flight Reward and a non-Classic Flight Reward fare (commercial fare) in the same booking, am I eligible for the point fee waiver if I make a change to my booking?
You may be eligible for fee free date changes as part of our Fly Flexible terms and conditions. For mixed itineraries, the Flexible Classic Flight Reward cancellation fee waiver will not apply.
Classic Flight Reward component:
Cancellations: If you wish to cancel the Classic Flight Reward component of your booking, the Qantas Points and any taxes, fees and carrier charges will be refunded.
Changes: The Classic Flight Reward component of your booking may be eligible for fee free date changes if it booked within the Fly Flexible terms and conditions.
Non-Classic Flight Reward component:
Cancellations: If you’re not sure when you’d like to travel, you can put the non-Classic Flight Reward component of your booking into a Flight Credit. See more information on changing travel plans.
Changes: The non-Classic Flight Reward component of your booking may be eligible for fee free date changes if it booked within our Fly Flexible terms and conditions. A fare difference may apply.
Can I use cash if I don’t have enough points for the Classic Flight Reward seat I want to book?
No, the point fee waiver applies to Classic Flight Rewards booked using points and not Points Plus Pay - Flights. If you are short on points, you can also purchase Top-up points to achieve the balance you need for your booking.
I’m short of the amount of points I need for the destination I want to travel to. How do I get more Qantas Points?
There are hundreds of ways to earn points on the ground. You can also purchase Top-up points to achieve the balance you need for a specific reward.
Does the point fee waiver apply to both one-way and return Classic Flight Rewards flights?
Yes, the point fee waiver applies to one-way, return or multi-segment itineraries, provided the booking contains Classic Flight Reward seats only, and not a commercial fare.
I booked a Classic Flight Reward last month, does this policy apply for me?
Yes, the point fee waiver will apply to both existing and new Classic Flight Reward bookings provided you make and then change or cancel your bookings in the eligible period.
Will I earn Status Credits on Classic Flight Rewards?
No, you cannot earn Status Credits on Classic Flight Rewards. However, if you are a Points Club member you will earn Status Credits on all QF Marketed Classic Flight Reward bookings. Visit qantas.com/pointsclub to find out more.
How do I book a Classic Flight Reward?
When searching for a flight, select ‘Use Points’ and look for the Classic Flight Reward symbol showing available flights. Select your flight and complete your booking.
Will the Reward Assistance Fee or Service Fee apply if I make or change my Classic Flight Reward booking through a Qantas contact centre?
Yes, the normal Reward Assistance Fee or Service Fee for making or changing your Classic Flight Reward booking through the Qantas Contact Centre will apply.
Do I need to use all points for my Classic Flight Reward?
Classic Flight Rewards segments can only be booked using Qantas points. The taxes, fees and carrier charges quoted at the time of booking must be paid for using cash or may be paid with either points or cash when booking on qantas.com.
You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer to earn and use Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions.
