Onslow travel information

When to visit

Onslow experiences hot summers and mild winters, though there has been history of cyclones in the area. The best time to visit is in summer (December to February) to enjoy the warm days and water activities with temperatures ranging around 35°C. Winters (June to August) are mild with an average maximum temperature of 25°C and minimum of 12°C. During winter is a good time to see the Onslow Ruins, walk along the Asburton River and watch the sunsets.

Onslow Airport (ONS) is located 3.7 km south of the coastal town of Onslow in Western Australia's Pilbara region.

Getting into Onslow from Onslow Airport

Once you arrive at Onslow airport there a couple of transport options to get you to the town centre. Rental cars are available through Europecar at the terminal or there is a taxi and bus service available.

Getting around Onslow

The best way to get around Onslow is by hire car to discover the wider region. A taxi service is available in town or there are coach services to visit nearby towns. Another option is join a guided tour which is an easy and safe option to explore sites you may not be able to access alone or hire a boat to cruise along the river.
