Manila travel information

Manila travel information

Manila is the largest city and capital of the Philippines, in South East Asia. It is a lively city, a buzz with culture, food stalls and friendly local Filipino people. The chaotic city has an eclectic mix of buildings that range from Spanish colonial styles to ultra-modern skyscrapers. The city is one of contrasts, gleaming shopping malls stand proudly next to market stores, while food vendors offer authentic food against top restaurants. During your stay in Manila you shouldn’t miss the Walled City of Intramuros, which stands for the Spanish city, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ermita, Manila Ocean Park, Malate district, the National Museum Complex and Rizal Park, the largest urban park in Asia.  There's lots of history, museums, plenty of shopping, lots of cool eats and sights to see in Manila.

When to visit

Best time to visit  Manila

The best time to visit the Philippines is from December to February, when temperatures are around 24°C-31°C. During this time the country is fully accessible, including its many beautiful islands and more remote areas. Although the dry season lasts from November to April, temperatures are high during March and April, with highs of 34°C. The wet season falls between May and October, but the rain doesn’t last all day. You can enjoy hot, sunny days with fewer crowds and lush, green scenery, though it can be humid. Typhoons can occur as from June to September.
