Visiting from Sydney to Tehran (Imam Khomeini)

tehran city

Tehran, in the Middle East, may be an unlikely holiday destination, though there is plenty of history, museums and bazars to explore. The city is divided in two parts, the northern districts are modern with large shopping malls, international restaurants and luxury hotels. The southern areas are home to bazars, historical buildings and falafel stands. If you visit, be sure to check out the popular Golestan Palace.

When to visit

Tehran has a semi-arid, continental climate with dry, hot summers and cold winters. The best time to visit Tehran is during summer (June to August) with clear sunny days, low humidity and cool evenings. Temperatures average around 34°C. If you're after milder weather, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to October) are pleasant times to visit with perfect temperatures for sightseeing, around 21°C. Winters are very cold with snow, dropping to below freezing.
