Getting into Quito from Ecuador Airport

Taxis offer a fast and safe transport option to take you to your home, office or hotel. The taxi rank is located at the exit of the airport terminal, taking approximately 40 minutes to get to Quito. Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes providing a direct transfer from the airport to the city centre and tickets can be bought online or at the Aeroservices desk located at the Arrivals hall of UIO Airport. Public buses depart from the airport to several routes in Quito. Alternatively, you may wish to rent a car from one of the car rental providers from the arrivals hall.

Getting around in Ecuador is easy, with various handy transport options available. From buses, taxis, train or car rental you can get to anywhere you want to go. It's very easy to get around historic Quito on foot. Buses are one of the most common ways to get around and affordable with regular services to where you need to go. Another option is to take the Ecuador Hop, a hop-on-hop-off bus service with a variety of routes across the city. There is a historic train that runs between Quito and the port city of Guayaquil. This impressive railway runs from high up in the Andes to the country’s tropical shores. Taxis are a convenient way to get around Quito, that run on a metre and can be recognised by their orange number plates. Car rentals companies are available, though the road conditions can make it difficult to get around, so it’s easier to take a taxi or bus. Otherwise you may wish to join an organised tour.
