Getting into Karachi from Karachi Airport
Getting into Karachi from the airport is easy, thanks to the various range of transport options available. Choose from taxis, bus, train, hotel shuttle or car rental. Taxi is a comfortable option with the taxi rank located outside the arrivals. It's best to take a licensed taxi and be sure to get the meter turned on. It takes about 40 minutes to reach downtown Karachi. Public transport is the most economical way from the airport, though it can be slow. There are many bus routes with the bus stop located opposite the airport, it can take 50 minutes or longer. By train, Karachi Cantonment is the nearest railway station. From there, you can connect to other destinations. The safest way to travel is to book a hotel transfer to your accommodation. It is possible to rent a car, as you'll have the freedom to explore areas around Lake Saiful Muluk, which is not possible with public transport.

Rickshaws are a popular method of travelling in Karachi, they're cheap, flexible and are everywhere in the city at any time of day. If you need to travel shorter distances, go by rickshaw. There are many buses in the city, though mostly used by locals and can be confusing, so it’s best to travel by taxi or rickshaw. There are plenty of taxis in Karachi. They are convenient, comfortable and safer than auto rickshaws and the best way to travel if you’re going to an unknown destination. They are not metered, so best to agree on a price before you ride. Uber is available through the app or if you want to travel in luxury, hotels can arrange a private transfer for you which is a secure way to see the city. Alternatively, you can join a tour.
