Getting into Cuzco from Cuzco Airport
Getting into Cuzco from the airport is easy, thanks to the range of different transport options available. Choose from taxis, bus, hotel shuttle or car rental. Taxi is a comfortable option with both official airport taxis and un-official taxis. Official taxis are a safe way to travel, though other taxi drivers are available. Its best to agree on a price before getting in. It usually takes about 10 minutes to get into the city. Just outside the airport are local buses, though its best to take a taxi or organise a transfer with your hotel.
Getting around Cuzco
The top ways to get around Cuzco are walking, taxis, bus, train, tour or hiring a car. The best way to get around Cusco is on foot. The Plaza da Armas is the historic centre of the city and colourful cobbled pedestrian-only streets lead to many of the city's top attractions. For short distances, it’s easy to hop on one of the buses that run along the main parts of the city. Taxis are easy to find on the street or ask your hotel to book one for you. Taxis are not metered though can take you to where you want to go. To reach Machu Picchu, you need to take a 4-hour train ride from Cuzco and from the station you can take a shuttle to the historic site. Renting a car is a good option to explore the Sacred Valley or you can join one of the many organised tours.
