When to visit

Best time to visit Cairns

Cairns has two very distinct seasons, a dry season and a wet season. The dry season which starts in April and ends around November is warm and humid. The wet season brings tropical monsoons and sometimes cyclones. While you can swim nearly all year round, swimming is not recommended during stinger season (November to May), so avoid swimming in the ocean around Cairns and Cairns Northern Beaches.
