Best time to visit Brisbane

What is the main airport called?

Sydney Airport. Located 9 km (5.5 miles) south of the Sydney CBD, in Mascot, Sydney AirportOpens external site (SYD) has three terminals: T1 - Sydney international airport (Qantas flights QF1-QF399, oneworld flights and Jetstar international flights), T2 - Sydney domestic airport (Jetstar domestic flights) and T3 - Sydney domestic airport (Qantas Domestic flights QF400 to QF1599 and QantasLink flights QF1600 and above).

Baggage allowance

When you travel from Sydney to Brisbane with Qantas, checked baggage is included in your airfare. If you require more luggage, you can pre-purchase an additional baggage allowance online to save on airport excess baggage rates.

Check in

Customers travelling from Sydney to Brisbane can check-in online up to 24 hours in advance, using the Qantas app or visiting a kiosk at the airport.

What is the main airport called?

Brisbane Airport. Located a 30-minute drive from the city centre on Airport Drive at Eagle Farm, Brisbane Airport (BNE)Opens external site in a new window is the main airport serving Brisbane and South East Queensland. There are two terminals at Brisbane Airport: International (Qantas flights QF1-QF399) and Domestic (Qantas flights QF400 and above).

Getting into Brisbane from Brisbane Airport

There’s no better way to reach Brisbane’s CBD than hopping onto the AirtrainOpens external site in a new window. It’s fast, affordable and will have you there in around 20 minutes. Taxis, rideshare services and shuttles are also located just outside the terminal building.

Getting around Brisbane

Public transport in Brisbane is convenient and reliable. Grab a reloadable ‘go card’ and make your way around on the city’s trains, buses and ferries. If you’re venturing outside of Brisbane, hire cars can be booked in advance or at the airport.
