When to visit

Austin has a humid subtropical climate where the summers are very long and hot and winters tend to be short and mild. Summer (June to August) has scorching heat making it barley tolerable to enjoy the city. Autumn (September to November) is the best time to visit with many outdoor activities and music events, including the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
