The best time to go to Weipa is between July and August, when the dry season kicks in the weather is cool and sunny and gets very busy with visitors. Between November to April is the wet season, it’s very hot and thunderstorms start building in late afternoons and evenings. It also floods, making it a very wet visit, though good for fishing — but look out for crocodiles.
