Hobart has four distinct seasons. Summer is the driest season and is the best weather for outdoor activities, while autumn enjoys calm and pleasant days. Winter is characterised by frosty winds, snow and some of Australia’s coolest temperatures. Spring is the wettest time of year, even though Hobart is the country's second-driest capital city.

Getting into Hobart from Hobart Airport

Hobart is just a short 15 minute trip from the airport. You can hop on a shuttle bus, catch a taxi, book an Uber or hire a rental car from the terminal. It's best to pre-book a hire car before arriving from one of the many car hire companies.

Getting around Hobart

You can easily get around Hobart on public transport. With buses running frequently, you can also visit surrounding destinations like South Arm and the beaches of Blackmans Bay. If you're exploring the centre of town, walking is the best way to experience Hobart's history and charm. Taxis, hire cars and rideshare services are also great transport options. A ferrry to MONA is another great option to see this interesting attraction.
