When to visit

Best time to visit Dubbo

Dubbo has pleasant whether for most of the year. With Dubbo being located in the heart of the Western Plains, it’s consistently dry with very little rainfall. It can get very warm in the summer months with temperatures reaching an average of 33°C throughout January and February. The most pleasant time to visit is between late August to late November, whereby it’s mostly dry with mild heat.

Getting into Dubbo from Dubbo Airport

Dubbo Airport is only 5km outside of the Dubbo central business district so getting into the city is easy. There’s plenty of transport options available. The taxi rank is located directly outside the terminal, otherwise car hire is available from the hire services area within the airport.

Getting around Dubbo

If you’re looking to get out of the Dubbo CBD and experience the immersive Great Western Plains, hiring a car is your best option. This will let you be in full control of your trip and let you cruise from attraction to attraction in comfort at your own pace. The roads are easy to navigate with an abundance of parking available. Dubbo also offers an extensive bus service running 6 days a week that can get you all around the city.
