Best time to visit Adelaide

Adelaide has lots of sunshine throughout the year, with an average temperature of 22.3 °C. Winter the temperature dips to around 7°C with some rain. Autumn (March to May) is the best time of year to visit Adelaide, as the weather usually stays in the low to mid 20s. Spring offers lots of colour and the purple jacardana trees are a popular sight during this time. The average daily temperature in spring is a lovely 21.7°C.

Once you touch down in Adelaide, you’ll be greeted by the friendly airport staff. Then there are multiple transport options available to get you on your way.  

Getting into Adelaide from Adelaide Airport

The most convenient way to reach Adelaide city centre is via taxi, Uber or shuttle services, that are available outside Adelaide Airport. Rental cars are available at the terminal or, alternatively you may wish to book a private transfer.

Getting around Adelaide

Adelaide Metro offers an express bus service called JetExpressOpens external site between the airport and the city, plus the convenient JetBus service to Glenelg, West Beach and the city. Explore with the free City Connector Loop-Bus which runs frequently until about 6pm each day or jump on a free tram ride through the city’s centre. You may also like to explore Adelaide by hiring a bike or join a tour with EcoCaddy.
