Taxi is the safest means of transport, with airport taxis lining up just in front of the arrivals terminal. The airport is located 10km from the city centre and on average takes approximately 30 minutes to the city depending on the traffic. There is a bus network which is a cheap way to get to the city and operates a regular service. Take bus line 3 with the final stop at the night market. Airport tuk-tuks are available and a handy option with a set fare to the city. Alternatively, you may wish to organise a hotel shuttle.

With plenty of transport options available in Phnom Penh, exploring the city and landmarks is easy. You can choose to walk, hire a bike, take a taxi, bus, tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi. Motorcycle taxis are great for short trips within Phnom Penh, and those which are driven by English-speaking locals can be found mostly in Phnom Penh’s tourist-friendly areas such as Sisowath Quay and Independence Monument. Travelling by cyclo is excellent for those looking to visit landmarks within the Phnom Penh City Centre such as the Royal Palace. You can also find them parked near hotels and restaurants and are a fun way to sightsee. City taxis are available and a safe and fast way to travel. City buses are an authentic way to travel to see the city. Alternatively, you may wish to join a tour.
